FREE HEALTH SCREENING HELD AT IPINSA, AKURE SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT, ONDO STATE, NIGERIA

In the Organization’s ceaseless and endless effort to contribute her own quota to Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3) to “Ensure Healthy Lives and Promote Well-Being for All at All Ages”, the Organization in collaboration with a Nurse Corp member carried out a Free Health Screening outreach at Ipinsa, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nigeria on 15th July, 2016 which was the second day of the Community’s annual festival “Odun Egba/Opa Ipinsa”.

The Matron of Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Health Center sensitized Community dwellers on the importance of the Screening exercise that was to be carried out and also on the Causes, Symptoms/Signs and Prevention of the following : HIV & AIDS, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Body Mass Index (BMI). Simultaneously, the following screening were conducted:

  • HIV Screening
  • Blood Sugar Screening
  • Blood Pressure Check
  • BMI (Body Mass Index)

After which Counseling was done by the Counselors.
